- More environmentally friendly: do not contain toxic heavy metals such as cadmium or mercury
- High energy density: more charge per volume than NiCd or NiMH, resulting in high capacity (mAh) in a compact format
- Long lifespan: typically long-lasting and highly rechargeable, often 300+ charge cycles, making them suitable for applications where replacement is difficult
In addition to lithium polymer, there are other lithium batteries that are often used in professional applications. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are a few examples.
