More than 100 years of experience

Yuasa is a Japanese battery manufacturer that has been around for more than a century. It was founded in 1895 as a manufacturer of lead-acid batteries. Since its founding, Yuasa has developed into a global leader in the battery industry. Yuasa is also a pioneer in battery technology innovation, including the introduction of the first maintenance-free lead-acid battery in 1977, the first valve-regulated lead-acid battery in 1980 and the first lithium-ion battery in 1991.

Yuasa offers a wide range of industrial batteries, including:

These batteries are designed to meet the specific requirements of each application. Yuasa has four main categories of industrial batteries which are extended by subcategories such as energy storage.

General Use

General Use batteries are suitable for standard applications that require long life and low self-discharge. They are ideal for emergency lighting, alarm systems, UPS systems and other back-up applications. An example of a General Use battery is the NP-VRLA series.

This series consists of valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries with a nominal voltage of 6V or 12V and a capacity of 0.8Ah to 65Ah. The NP-VRLA series has a service life of 3 to 5 years at 20°C and can be used in a wide temperature range from -15°C to 50°C.

Cyclic Use

Cyclic batteries are designed for applications requiring high current output and frequent charge/discharge. They are ideal for electric vehicles, golf carts, wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility applications. An example of a Cyclic battery is the NPL-VRLA series.

This series is similar to the NP-VRLA series, but has higher capacity and longer life. The NPL-VRLA series has a rated voltage of 6V or 12V and a capacity of 24Ah to 200Ah. The NPL-VRLA series has a service life of 5 to 7 years at 20°C and can be used in a wide temperature range from -15°C to 50°C.

Front Terminal

Front Terminal batteries are specially designed for applications that require compact and easy installation. They are ideal for telecommunications, data centres, switchgear and other critical applications. An example of a Front Terminal battery is the FXH-VRLA series.

This series consists of VRLA batteries with a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity of 55Ah to 200Ah. The FXH-VRLA series has a service life of 10 to 12 years at 20°C and can be used in a wide temperature range from -20°C to 50°C.

High Rate

High Rate batteries are designed for applications requiring very high current output and short discharge time. They are ideal for UPS systems, emergency power supplies, starter motors and other high-power applications. An example of a High Rate battery is the EN-VRLA series.

This series consists of VRLA batteries with a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity of 7Ah to 65Ah. The EN-VRLA series has a service life of 3 to 5 years at 20°C and can be used in a wide temperature range from -15°C to 50°C.

Energy Storage

SLR Renewable Energy batteries are designed for the future of energy storage and renewable energy. They are based on Yuasa’s advanced lead-acid technology, which has been used for more than a century.

An example of a battery from the SLR Renewable Energy range is the SLR-1000; this modular battery has a horizontal orientation and a capacity of 1000 Ah at a 20-hour discharge. Both the SLR-500 and SLR-1000 are applicable for various markets and compatible with most inverters and charge controllers on the market.

Lithium manganese oxide

In addition, Yuasa has developed the LIM series; which is a type of lithium manganese oxide battery that has been successfully used in satellites, trains, submarines and energy storage systems for more than 30 years.

The Li-ion batteries have high power density, high charge and discharge rate, reliability and safety. The LIM series is available in different models, such as the LIM30HL (POWER) and the LIM50EL (Energy Storage)
