Saft is a battery manufacturer like no other. The brand serves a wide range of market sectors, including aerospace, maritime, rail, telecommunications, healthcare, and energy. It is known for minimal maintenance requirements and an exceptionally long lifespan. Applications in challenging conditions or extreme temperatures (up to 150°C) are handled with ease by Saft.
What types of batteries does Saft have?
The brand can be considered an expert in lithium battery technology, with more than 40 years of experience. Saft also owns Tadiran. Together, these two brands are the global market leader in 3.6-volt lithium batteries. Saft offers three main battery technologies: nickel, primary lithium, and rechargeable lithium (Li-ion) batteries.
- Benefits of nickel batteries
Saft nickel batteries are known for their excellent performance in extreme temperatures. They are popular in the aviation industry and also for trains, drilling platforms and telecom masts. With a lifespan of more than 20 years, these batteries surpass VRLA batteries by at least three times. They are maintenance-free and can be installed in existing lead-acid battery cabinets.
- Primary lithium batteries
These batteries offer “high-energy” and “high power” solutions in three variants: Li-SOCl2, Li-SO2 and Li-MnO2. They are particularly interesting for applications that have to work for a long time and where it is difficult to replace batteries, such as gas, water and electricity meters.
- Rechargeable lithium (li-ion) batteries
SAFT's Li-ion technologies routinely exceed the lifespan of competitors' cells by more than double. They are available in both cylindrical and prismatic formats.
